For those of you that don’t know what a Gravity Dropper is, it is a seatpost that you can adjust while riding. If you get the version with the handlebar mounted thumb switch (which I highly recommend), you can change your seat height at any time, while riding.

At first the uses might not be as obvious as you would think. Normally you have to raise your seat to climb, and lower it to descend. This is what this product was designed for. For this it works perfect.

I installed my Gravity Dropper on my Intense Uzzi and the way I used it changed somewhat from when I tried it on my Yeti. The Uzzi is a gravity bike. 85% downhill. After a few days of riding Itried a new position for the seat.  I had a downhill position (the up position), then I had a really steep terrain position (the down position). This worked out very well as when things got crazy steep, I could drop the seat almost totally out of my way, and it was low enough that I could sit on it in a drop turn and be comfortable with my body postion being very low on the bike.

The Gravity Dropper comes in several models. I bought the 3 inch drop Turbo. To drop the seat, you push the lever and then sit on the seat. To raise the seat, you just push the lever. A quick warning, keep your balls out of the way as this thing will knock them into your throat if they are in the path of the seat. It comes up that hard.

When you order the Gravity Dropper, make sure you check your size needed as any larger than 27.2mm and they include a bushing, which works very well by the way.

For those of you that ride Super D, or you all mountain guys, you really need to look into one of these. They are a bit pricey and they add about half a pound to your bike. I cant emphasise enough how the benefits outweigh those two facts.
